Night Circus

Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

THOUGHTS:

When I began this book, I thought the book was dense. It was hard for me to get into the book, but when you push past a few chapters it is worth reading. Night Circus is about a two people who were apprenticed by two magicians. Both magicians are rivals of one another and they would play a "game," where they would take on these apprentices and make their apprentices dual to the death. Each "game" takes places differently and the rules are changed each time.

In this game, two apprentices are destined to challenge to one another, but along the way they fell in love. There love for one another over rides what their masters want.

Overall, this book was interesting to read. The imagination and creativity put into this magical world left me an awing sensation. The author really transports you to a place of wonder and excitement. A circus that comes and goes silently and opens at night. A plot like that can not be passed up. YOU would have to read it. There is just a lot of mystery that I was determined to uncover. The story really leaves you chills and daydreams of this mystifying circus.

I highly recommend this book. I heard through the grapevine that this book might turn into a motion picture. I am a little hesitant to give my full support for this production. Honestly, I think that the book is ALWAYS better than the movie, but I am interested in how they would cast and film the story. Please find the time to read this wonderful story!
