Mind Games

Mind Games - Kiersten White

Fia was born with flawless instincts. Her first impulse, her gut feeling, is always exactly right. Her sister, Annie, is blind to the world around her—except when her mind is gripped by strange visions of the future.

Trapped in a school that uses girls with extraordinary powers as tools for corporate espionage, Annie and Fia are forced to choose over and over between using their abilities in twisted, unthinkable ways…or risking each other’s lives by refusing to obey.

In a stunning departure from her New York Times bestselling Paranormalcy trilogy, Kiersten White delivers a slick, edgy, heartstoppingly intense psychological thriller about two sisters determined to protect each other—no matter the cost.

THOUGHTS:

The book was a fast read. It has less than 300 pages in the book, so if you are looking for something quick. This is the book. I recommend reading this book not only because it is short, but it has great characters. I love the sisters Annie and Fia (short for Sofia). If you don't know me by know, I love to read characters that can kick-butt. Fia is such a cool fighter. She doesn't give a crap about anyone besides her sister, and if anyone gets in her way, her opponents get their ass kicked. The book is about the strong relationship between this sisters and psychic powers. Annie and Fia joined (forced to join) this foundation called Keane not knowing it was a school for psychic. Annie has psychic powers to see the future. She is a Seer. Fia, unfortunately, does not have any psychic abilities, but she can infiltrate, spy, and kill. She is exceptionally smart. In the book, there are only three types of ability a person can have, which is a Seer, Reader, and Feeler. Readers can read a person's thought and a Feeler can sense emotion from the other person. Personally, I wouldn't wont psychic powers. I would want to be like Fia, who is independent and don't need to rely on psychic powers. The only thing that I didn't like about the book was the format. The book kept having flashbacks and changing view points from Annie to Fia. I would get confused by who was narrating, other than that the book is good. If you like adventure, strong family bond, and fighting, this is the book!

p.s. 2nd book is coming out in February 18, 2014 - Perfect Lies
