Beautiful Series

Beautiful Disaster & Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire
Beautiful Disaster
Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.
Walking Disaster
Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.
In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.
Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

THOUGHTS:
**I wanted to start my blog out my doing individual posts for each book, but I there will be times were I will just clump the whole series together (especially when its short).

I really enjoyed reading this series. The story is about two college students, who meet for the first time and has a definite attraction for one another, but they set off just being friends. Both books retell from beginning to end of their relationship from the eyes of both the girl, Abby, and boy, Travis. The first book Beautiful Disaster is narrated in the perspective of Abby Abernathy. What I liked about the first book was how the author expanded the personality of the characters. The relationship dynamic between the two characters are strong, that you want to continue reading about how their relationship will end.

The second book Walking Disaster is told in the perspective of Travis Maddox. From the first book to the second book, I could further understand how Abby and Travis could really connect to one another on a intimate level. How they really cared for one another. I can understand how they enjoy each other company. It really does capture what a relationship feels like, which is being yourself with someone else, overcoming hardship, and sticking it out in the end. Let me just say, the book brought a lot of tears to my eyes. There were moments in the book that was just so tender and loving, but also heart-crushing. If you enjoy a good book with romance, sobs, and heart-ache, this is the series. I know that this is fictional character, but I wished I had a Travis.

RATE: 5/5
